Farmingdale, NY, August 16, 2022 — The American Airpower Museum (AAM) is proud to announce its โHistory in Motion with Wings, Wheels and Warbirdsโ spectacular on Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, September 3rd, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Museum, Hangar 3, 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale, NY.ย Come to the Museum and celebrate the history of aviation and automobiles!ย Get up close and personal with vintage biplanes, Model A and T Fords, plus AAMโs fleet of World War II aircraft.ย Great photo ops for aviation and automobile enthusiasts alike.
Early Saturday, vintage biplanes from the Bayport Aerodrome Society will land on AAMโs flightline at Republic Airport and taxi up to park on the Museumโs ramp at Hangar 3.ย On display near the biplanes will be a fleet of vintage cars from the Model A Ford Club of Long Island (Model A and T Fords, plus others).ย And as a special promotion, museum sponsor Cockpit USA has over-stocked the gift shop with discounted flight jackets; 10% of all jacket sales will be donated to the AAM! ย
Guests will be able to watch flight demonstrations, weather permitting, featuring flybys by AAMโs vintage military aircraft which played pivotal roles in Americaโs WWII victories.ย As an added attraction, event visitors can purchase affordable flights aboard AAMโs magnificent, 1939-vintage, Waco UPF-7 biplane, or one of two North American AT-6D Texans. Theyโre available to give living history flight experiences, weather permitting.

Richard Mallory Allnutt's aviation passion ignited at the 1974 Farnborough Airshow. Raised in 1970s Britain, he was immersed in WWII aviation lore. Moving to Washington DC, he frequented the Smithsonianโs National Air & Space Museum, meeting aviation legends.
After grad school, Richard worked for Lockheed-Martin but stayed devoted to aviation, volunteering at museums and honing his photography skills. In 2013, he became the founding editor of Warbirds News, now Vintage Aviation News. With around 800 articles written, he focuses on supporting grassroots aviation groups.
Richard values the connections made in the aviation community and is proud to help grow Vintage Aviation News.
