ย Evergreen Aviation & Space Museumย unveilsย Remembering D-Day: a commemorative 80thย anniversary event on Saturday, June 8 in honor of the Battle of Normandy and all World War II Veterans.ย
The event will feature a full day of Battle of Normandy itinerary, beginning with a screening ofย D-Dayย in the Evergreen Giant Screen Theater. When the lights go up, our Education Director, Jay Lacano, will facilitate an engaging panel of speakers, including Boeingโs Senior Historian Mike Lombardi, WWII Veterans, C-47ย Skytrainย specialist Don Keller, and more. These subject matter experts will discuss D-Day in detail and its impact on WWII and global war strategy.ย After lunch, guestsย are welcome toย join a specialized tour centered around the Museumโsย C-47ย Skytrain,ย which flew in the Battle of Normandy.

It is truly incredible to know that the fate of hundreds of millions rested in the hands of those brave soldiers, sailors, and airmen who fought so gallantly at Normandy.โ
Ticketsย are $15 for children and Veterans, $25 for adults, free for Museum Members, and include full-day access to both the Aviation and Space Museums.ย Donations to our C-47ย Skytrainrestoration effortย are highly encouraged.ย

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
