This summer, third to ninth-grade students in the Portland Metro area are invited to participate in Evergreen Aviation and Space Museumโ€™s Aerospace Campsย on July 8 โ€“ August 2.

The Museumโ€™sย summer campsย utilize STEAM fundamentals, including science, technology, engineering, art, and math, to ignite a passion for exploration and innovation in future aviators and space explorers.ย Summer Camp pricing starts at $350, and Museum members receive 15% off camp pricing.

Inย Aviation Camp, high-flying adventurers jump into the pilotโ€™s seat and dive into the many sides of aeronautics. Students will learn the four forces of flight, design their own airplane, get an up-close view of the Spruce Gooseยฎ, and much, much more! The course runs fromย July 8 โ€“ 12ย and again onย July 22 โ€“ 26ย from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

In Galaxy Camp, future space explorers launch into the outer depths of the universe, signing up for a week of scientific missions. Students discover how to build and launch their own rocket and engineer a solar-powered rover, all while learning in the shadow of real spacecraft. This course runs fromย July 15 โ€“ 19ย and again fromย July 29 โ€“ August 2ย from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Each camp is led by the Museumโ€™s Education Director Jay Lacano, three registered teachers, and a teacherโ€™s assistant.ย  For anyย summer campย questions, please emailย education@evergreenmuseum.orgor call (503) 434-4180.ย Register now.
