Brighten your summer with a ride in a Huey helicopter with the doors wide open and the wind rushing over your face. This experience is not your typical aircraft ride; you’ll feel the difference from lift-off to landing. It all takes place July 27-28 at the Air Zoo Flight Discovery Center located at 3101 E. Milham Avenue, Portage, MI 49002. For only $125.00, you can take a thrilling 10-minute flight with a new perspective from the air. Book your ride in advance or take a chance and walk up that day. The Michigan Flight Museum Huey,
Greyhound, served in the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1971. It was part of the 240
th Assault Helicopter Company known as
The Greyhounds, Mad Dogs, and
Kennel Keepers. The Greyhound Bus Company was honored by the name and gave the company permission to use its logo. A versatile helicopter, the UH-1 was used as a gunship, for medical evacuation and for utility purposes.
