Peter Monk, Managing Director of FlyaSpitfire.com and The Spitfire Company (Biggin Hill) Ltd, has announced an exciting new partnership with the Swansea Airport Stakeholders Alliance (SASA) to bring Spitfire passenger flights to Swansea Airport starting in 2025.

According to Monk, Swansea Airport, as the gateway to Gower and Swansea City, offers access to the breathtaking countryside and coastline of South Wales, making it an ideal location for both local residents and visitors to experience the flight of a lifetime. FlyaSpitfire.com currently operates flights from its headquarters and restoration center at Biggin Hill, along with regular dates at Cotswold Airport, Blackbushe Airport, Norwich Airport, and Blackpool Airport. Following interest from members of the public, the team at Swansea Airport is working diligently to prepare the necessary conditions for the inaugural flights, which are planned for early summer 2025.

The airfield, formerly RAF Fairwood Common, has a rich history as part of the 10 Group Fighter Command during World War II. Spitfire flights will complement the existing General Aviation operations at the site.
